About Me

Hello! My name is Brian Halstrom. Let me start off by thanking you for visiting BrianHalstrom.com.

I started working at bowlingball.com immediately after I graduated from the University of Central Florida in December of 2007 where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Marketing. Before then, my schooling included three years at St. Petersburg College from 2000-2003. I then proceeded to Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana where I received my Associates in Science Degree in the field of Bowling Industry Management.

A co-worker and I recently started our own weekly podcast discussing the latest bowling industry news, tips, and new features on bowlingball.com.The idea for our own podcast originated when I first introduced John to the concept. During one of my business classes at UCF, we had to research one of three large internet sites and make a presentation to the class. One of those companies was Digg. When I first heard of Digg, I can honestly say that I had no clue what it pertained to. You would first think that it’s a site that sells shovels, right? Well, no. To take a piece from there about page,”Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by our users. You won’t find editors at Digg — we’re here to provide a place where people can collectively determine the value of content and we’re changing the way people consume information online.”

After learning what Digg was, I learned that they also offered a podcast called diggnation. I soon subscribed to their podcast and have been a loyal fan ever since.

One morning while driving to work together, I introduced John to the list of podcasts I had on my Zune. Not knowing exactly what podcasts were, I explained to him that they were videos made especially for the internet that you could download to your iPod or Zune. After watching many episodes, we started talking about the possibility that someday we’d like to have our own.

Well, that day has arrived. We are very proud to have turned an idea into reality and we appreciate all of you out there that support us. We look forward to bringing you the best bowling content on the web and having fun while doing it.
